Building a better Q8PD
July 2, 2009
More curves. Went for the bounded approach obviously and pushed ads to the sidelines. The reason it’s black and white was because we couldn’t agree on the colors.
At this point, we realized that the only way we could make the theme aesthetically pleasing is if we include a background and give it a “paper” feel. We also ditched the metadata and opted for a gallery view. We changed site logo. Icons for navigation to save space and go for simplicity. Finally, it was just a matter of trying out different ad placements.
If you glance from top to bottom, you can tell we’ve come a long way from the initial design. Although it’s not as fast as intended, it remains minimalist and concise around the content.
