Now that Gears has finally been released for Safari, this feature should be accessible with all major browsers and platforms (with the exception of Opera and 64-bit Linux):
By clicking the ‘Turbo‘ link on the top-right corner of the dashboard, WordPress users can enable Google Gears; a browser extension that caches dynamic web content locally. From then on, Gears causes pages to load considerably faster by eliminating unnecessary reloads of UI elements. Go on, give it a try!
Google already bundles Gears with their browser Chrome, so we should expect to see wider adoption of this technology soon. So far, other web apps that take advantage of Gears are Zoho office, the new YouTube uploader and Google Docs offline. Ironically, Blogger, which is owned by Google, doesn’t seem to have this feature yet!
